Small businesses

U.S. Bank recognizes a small business as a business that is privately owned and operated, organized for profit and located in the U.S. or contributing to the U.S. economy. The number of employees and annual revenue that qualify a business as small vary by industry and are set by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Designations include Small Business Enterprise, Small Disadvantaged Business, Historically Underutilized Business Zones, Women-Owned Small Business, Veteran-Owned Small Business and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. To self-attest your business, go to SAM.gov.

Diverse business enterprises

We follow the industry standard definition that a diverse supplier must be at least 51% owned, controlled and managed by an individual or group that includes minority group members, women, veterans, people with disabilities or the LGBTQ+ community.

Program objectives and focus

By doing business with small and diverse suppliers, we're contributing to the growth of companies that in turn help us build the best bank in America.

The evolution of our program helps further our support of small and diverse businesses. Our development program enhances the understanding of procurement processes at U.S. Bank. It further develops suppliers through coaching and mentoring on products and services we offer and provides entrepreneurs with the information they need on important topics that are relevant in today’s fast paced economy.
