When the CD reaches its maturity date, we'll automatically offer to renew it. Renewal offers stay available until the grace period ends or when the CD has been renewed, whichever comes first. Your grace period can be found on the Overview tab of your CD.
How to renew your CD in digital banking
- Select your CD account from the dashboard.
- From online banking, choose Renew your CD.
- From the U.S. Bank Mobile App, choose View renewal information.
- Choose the term you'd like to renew at from the CD renewal specials.
- Select the radio button for the renewal option you'd like and select Continue.
- Confirm your contact information is correct or select Edit my info to change it.
- If you chose Renew by adding funds from another bank, continue below.
- Enter the amount you'd like to add and then select Calculate Return.
- If you're happy with the CD renewal details choose Continue or enter a new amount to recalculate.
- Choose how often you want interest payments paid, how you want the interest dispersed, and select Continue.
- Select how'd you'd like to transfer from your other bank, then Continue.
- Enter the requested details about your account to continue.
- If you chose Renew by adding funds from a U.S. Bank account, continue below.
- Enter the amount you'd like to add, select your account to transfer from, then select Calculate Return.
- If you're happy with the CD renewal details choose Continue or enter a new amount to recalculate.
- Choose how often you want interest payments paid, how you want the interest dispersed, and select Continue.
- If you chose Renew with current balance, choose how often you want interest payments paid, how you want the interest dispersed, and select Continue.
- Review your renewal information. Select Edit next to the information that needs changed and/or choose Renew now when you're ready.
