  1. The sender initiates payment.
  2. Payment information is sent.
  3. Account balance and potential fraud are verified.
  4. The payment is immediately transferred to the recipient’s bank account.

Instant payment or real-time payment is a method of electronic funds transfer, allowing for an Instant bank transfer of money between bank accounts.

No, Real-time payments (RTP) are not the same as Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments. RTP payments are processed instantly, while ACH payments can take a few hours to a few days to settle.

Note: Most banks participate in the RTP network, whereas the ACH network is available across all banks.
