The Women’s Forum of New York honored companies with significant female representation on their corporate boards
U.S. Bancorp was recently recognized by the Women’s Forum of New York for expanding female board representation. The organization’s biennial Breakfast of Corporate Champions event brings together CEOs, board directors and government officials in support of the shared goal of achieving 50/50 gender parity in the boardroom by 2025.
U.S. Bancorp joined 233 S&P 500 and Fortune 1000 companies honored at the event yesterday at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. Last year, about 27% of corporate board seats in North America were held by women, up from 22% in 2020.
“We are enormously proud of the work we have done to accelerate and celebrate female board representation since launching the Breakfast of Corporate Champions over a decade ago,” said Breakfast of Corporate Champions Chair and Founder, Janice Reals Ellig, CEO, Ellig Group. “We know more needs to be done and will continue our strong focus as we look forward to growing the number of S&P 500 and Fortune 1000 companies achieving gender balance.”
The U.S. Bancorp board has previously received recognition for its gender representation, including a No. 2 ranking on Bank Director’s 2022 list of Best Boards. In addition to citing the board’s diverse composition, the publication also gave the U.S. Bancorp board high marks for its governance practices.
